Students (aka mentees),
Welcome to eMentor. Congratulations again on your accomplishments to date.
Please take a look around the page and familiarize yourself with the elements you can use. A brief description of each element is provided below.
Blog Layout
Each post will appear on the left-hand side of the blog, with the most recent appearing at the top of the page. To the right, there are a number of elements that have been added for your convenience. On the top right is the Wingate University School of Pharmacy logo. Clicking this image will take you to the School of Pharmacy home page. Below the logo is some information about the course and some insight into the change in format. Next you'll find an image of me. It serves no purpose other than to satisfy my intense vanity. Just kidding. I just wanted to remind everyone that there are actually people behind all of this electronic communication. Clicking my picture will provide you with more information about me. Below my picture is a direct link to my email address. Below my email address are two methods of sorting the posts found on the site. The "Labels" sort will sort the posts by topic, regardless of the date of the discussion. The "Blog Archive" sort will sort the posts by date posted, regardless of the topic. Thus, you will be able to search the blog by date or by topic if you would like to review previous posts. At the bottom of the page you'll find a listing of all mentors involved and a brief description of their current practice.
How it Works
I will publish a post summarizing a new topic along with any relevant readings, videos or sound clips no later than the Friday afternoon preceeding each Tuesday class discussion. During class we will have a follow-up discussion of the previous week's topic and introduce the new topic. Between the end of class on Tuesday morning and 5:00 PM on Wednesday, a number of events will take place. You will meet (very, very briefly) in your assigned group and come up with a single question related to the new topic and post this to the blog as a comment on the post. All comments on this blog are moderated by me. If I happen to receive 2 (or more) questions that are similar, I will authorize the first one (based on time/date received) and inform the other group that their question was a duplicate and ask them to come up with something else. The mentors will then comment based on the questions that have been asked. It is your job to periodically review the questions asked by your colleagues and the responses from the mentors. Your familiarity with the discussion as it ensues through the week via the blog will be the basis for our follow-up discussions.
In addition, I will (hopefully) be posting audio files that the mentors can stream right from the blog. These audio files (aka podcasts) will be 20-25 minute recordings of the actual discussions we have in class each week. It is my hope that these podcasts will provide greater insight into the weekly discussions (and the questions that result) for the mentors.
So, here's the rundown:
Tuesday AM - class
Tuesday AM to Wednesday PM - prepare and submit a group question
Wednesday PM to Monday PM - periodically review comments on blog
Friday PM to Monday PM - check out the new topic and be prepared to discuss on Tuesday
Tuesday AM - repeat
I am very excited about the new format. I hope you find the course enlightening and enjoyable.

Dr. Nuzum is really cool.
My first impression about this class: I think it is going to be very fruitful to have a group of practionner mentor intead of one person. I am hoping for a great semester, good luck everyone!
